The day is growing, fast approaching nightfall..and I've been a busy bee at work. I'm also getting busier with cookie orders coming in (Yipee!)as the word gets out that I bake & decorate. I absolutely LOVE the decorating of cookies...and will continue to strive to make a better cookie!
I had the joy of delivering cookies to both schools in my tiny, rural Kansas town. It was the first day of school yesterday - and what fun, to bring cookies to the facutly & staff along with a note of well wishing for a FANTASTIC year! Here are some pics...

Saying Good-bye
Good-bye's are never easy...at least for me. I'm not sure why it's that way...but it is. I recently had to come to terms with the death of fellow employee at my work place. At the respect of her family - I'll not identify her - other than an angel sent from heaven for a very short time. Although I did not know her well - I do know that she was a nurse and a caring one, too. She always knew she wanted to save lives...and had the biggest opportunity to do just that. In her death she saved countless lives through organ donation. For her there is no more pain...for us left here on earth a little while longer, there is. I know it's hard not to ask 'why'...I've found myself in times of prayer, confessing that I do wonder why...at 39 years old...she left us. I'm reminded, lovingly by the Holy Spirit, that God has a Master Plan...and He will bring about good. My sweet husband - reminded me of that very scripture (Romans 8:28) - that good has come about by her passing - with organ donation. I do know every time I think of her I will give thanks to my God...for allowing me to know her for the short time that I did...she made a big impact.

Bakin' All Night Long!
Upon my return from TX and high school reunion...it was time to 'git-a-bakin!' My work place (hospital) was holding a Bake Sale to raise funds for a swing for our long term care residents. Since I'd spent 4 days in East TX - and returned to Kansas 1 day before the big sale...I had lots'a baking yet to do!
Well, about 8pm I finally got started..and baked...and baked...and baked...(you get the picture). I think about 1:30am I was taking out the last batch of Toffee Chip Snickerdoodles and beginning to frost the first batch of almond sugar cookies!!!! (a side note - my sweet hubby got up to see the clatter around 3:45 - and I was just about finished...)
Needless to say...here it is 3 days later...and I'm STILL exhausted! I'm entirely too old to be staying up!

Texas!
Just a quick post today...
Sweet hubby flew me from Denver to Austin, TX last weekend for my 3oth (sh) high school reunion...Go, Red Raiders! (RELee - Tyler). He had us in a hotel for Thursday night & I flew out early Friday morning...I was in Tx before noon! My 18yr old - newly graduated - daughter picked me up from airport and whisked me away to east TX (Tyler). We met my dear, dear high school friend, "A", somewhere on I35 - where I began the jump back & forth from daughter's car to friend's car...all the way north. L-O-N-G story short - we three girls (daughter, A, and me) spent the night in hotel Friday night. A few 'old' good friends met up at a restaurant in downtown Tyler for great laughs. Daughter & I went shopping (yea, a MALL) on Saturday; then 'A' and I took a really long walk through a beautiful park/walking trail. Then it was time to get ready for the festivities of our reunion party!!
Reunion was great fun...visiting friends & seeing how many changes there were in 30 years! It was fun recognizing faces from the past!
